Does My Business Need an ATM?
Cash-intensive businesses, cash-only transaction types, and locations far from bank branches tend to benefit most.
An on-site ATM tends to make the most sense for businesses where customers regularly need cash they don’t already have on them: bars and restaurants with cash-preferred tabs, convenience stores, dispensaries, and hotels are common examples.
The two practical questions are traffic (how many people pass through who might use it) and alternatives (how far is the nearest other ATM). A location with steady foot traffic and no nearby cash access is usually a strong candidate.
You do not have to own and manage a machine yourself to get these benefits — placement options exist for businesses that would rather not handle equipment directly.
